Help Turn Our Willamette Beaches Into Community Gems.

HAP’s Beach Brigade works to restore and improve Portland’s river-edge spaces to make them more welcoming to the community and beneficial to wildlife. Each event lasts about 1.5 hours and includes moving rock, concrete, and litter from the river’s edge. Our goal is to create towel and toe friendly beaches that support shallow water habitat critical for juvenile salmon survival. While this is hard, hands-on work, it is uniquely rewarding to see the impact of your efforts in real-time.

Beyond restoring habitat and increasing access to Portland’s “blue space,” the Beach Brigade is also a greateam-building opportunityDo you have a larger group and would like your team to come out for a clean up? Reach out to our Community Outreach Manager Sage (sage@humanaccessproject.com) for more details! We are happy to schedule your cleanup on a day of your choosing. All supplies are provided by HAP in partnership with SOLVE.

Swimming and being at the waters edge are some of the great joys of living in Portland and its up to all of us to keep these places feeling safe and inviting. The HAP Beach Brigade is a great way to jump in to take care of the places we love and develop a culture of stewardship for our rivers.
