ANNUAL MAYORAL SWIM

Date to be announced
Willamette River Eastside Firehouse Dock

HAP hosts an annual Mayoral Swim where Portland citizens unite and swim across the Willamette River with their Mayor. We call it healthy civic interaction.

The event, free and open to the public, is a supervised swim with AMR River Rescue Lifeguards and safety paddlers. All participants who feel any insecurity about swimming in the Willamette River MUST wear a life jacket. It takes 20-30 minutes to cross the river.

Arrive by bike or transit. A number of TriMet buses stop at the Hawthorne Bridge. If you drive, we have permission from OMSI to use their parking lot for the swim. There’s also street parking on SE Madison and a paid lot adjacent to Fire Station 21.

Print parking pass for OMSI here.
